About Captain Wake

The alarm you can't turn off until you're actually awake

Captain Wake started with a simple, embarrassing problem: we kept sleeping through our alarms. Not the “hit snooze twice” kind — the “wake up at 11am with fourteen dismissed alarms and a missed meeting” kind. We tried louder tones, alarms across the room, three phones at once. Nothing stuck, because a normal alarm asks for one half-asleep swipe, and a half-asleep brain is very good at swiping.

Why a “mission” alarm

The fix that finally worked wasn't willpower — it was removing the option to fail. So we built an alarm that won't turn off until you complete a real task that forces your brain online: solve math, take a photo of a specific object, scan a barcode in another room, or shake the phone. By the time you've done it, you're awake for real. The alarm survives closing the app, restarting the phone, and muting the volume, so there's no back door.

What we believe

  • Waking up is a system, not a personality trait. The right setup beats motivation every time.
  • Privacy by default. Photo missions are verified entirely on your device with Apple Vision — your images are never uploaded.
  • Honest content. Our blog is written from real experience with oversleeping, not spun from a keyword list.

Who we are

Captain Wake is built by a small independent team operating under Zuxy Capital LLC-FZ. We're a mix of heavy sleepers, night owls, and one genuinely insufferable 5am person. We use the app every single day, and most features exist because one of us couldn't get out of bed.
